I picked up one of these at a department store on clearence after Christmas almost 2 years ago and it has been a hardly little heli. I have been in the high end RC hobby for many years and have a large coaxial heli so my expectations were not terribly high for this product but for $20 I figured it would at least give me that back in fun. Setup is easy, insert 6 AA batteries and plug in heli using the built in charger. Charging is very quick so repeat flights are possible with small breaks in between. Flying is a little tricky as this heli can take off to the left or right even after trimming so it's a little unpredictable, I find launching by hand is easier as you can give it a boost to maintain a straight trajectory. This heli will always maintain a forward motion so turning can be slightly sluggish so give yourself some room to get used to its control characteristics. This heli may present younger children with a challenge and parents with frustrations having to pick up knocked over household items due to crashes. I've crashed this heli many times into walls, upholstery, floors, ceilings and the family dog and it has held together with no breakage but in the event I do break the typical part the included spare parts bag is handy, the only parts problem I've had was one of the motor gears slipped on the shaft and would not engage the lower rotors but I was able to open the heli and slip the gear easily back in place. I did keep it stored recently for more than 6 months and the internal Lipo battery capacity was noticeably effected but after about 10-12 charges it is starting to regain full capacity. This heli is intended for indoor use only and will not work near devices that emit Infrared light due to the fact that this is how the remote works so obviously it will not work around corners on in direct sunlight, wind will also make this heli unreliable so do not expect to fly it near fans or open windows with wind blowing in. Once you get the hang of this heli you will be flying around your living room with ease, doing pirouettes and touch n go landings impressing your friends and scaring the family cat.The Pros: Charger built into remote, long remote battery life, collapsible rotor blades, spare parts bag, super light, durableThe Cons: IR narrows down flying environment, sporadic takeoff angles, sluggish response, tough to master so children may loose interest if not break it in the process.In the end this helicopter will provide you many many enjoyable indoor flights once you master how to fly it. The saying goes "you get what you pay for" and in this case do not expect $200 performance but at $20 I've gotten my money's worth and then some. If your child masters this heli he of she will be well prepared for making the jump to higher end helicopters so rather than dumping a lot of money on a higher end helicopter to break into the hobby give this one a try. Got two of these for my sons for Christmas. A week later and they still fly them quite a bit everyday. Have had to repair each one of them internally though. One of the rotor motor gears has slipped off of the main gear that turns one of the rotors. I simply opened the aircraft and pushed the tiny white gear back down to match the other. That's why I gave them a 3 rating on durability. They have endured a lot of crashing and have continued to fly, so I wouldn't say that they are not durable at all. My 7 yr old son can fly it around the house and loves it. It does take some trimming to get it to fly well. This is only a 2 channel RC helicopter. The battery charges fast and they can fly for 10 to 15 minutes on the charge. We have another copter of different brand and it only flies about 6 to 8 minutes. This helicopter charges only from a cable on the remote, does not plug in to the wall or USB like some brands. The batteries in the remotes haven't had to be changed so far. Doesn't eat batteries too bad. So overall a nice little bird for a beginner. It does help to have some RC experience to trim the thing, but after that anyone could fly it.

While it takes a little it to understand the "touch" to be a good pilot, this is a fun toy! It has been durable - I have flown it into walls, plants, a couple of doorways, etc as I learned to fly it. Not sure if it would be good for young kids, because it take some coordination and a "soft touch" to become an accomplished pilot. But, it is a gas for an old guy like me.
