Well, my husband figured it out after I thought we had a faulty booster like many have posted. With, batteries in the booster, the booster won't turn on unless the grey button on the back within the yellow piece is pressed in. Therefore it will work once it is on the wall and installed. Can't comment yet on how it works but at least wanted to help out with other frustrated parents.

I was hesitant to buy this based on reviews on numerous websites....but I did anyway to try it out. I read that most people say the booster doesn't work. I'm not sure if they are just putting batteries in and turning the switch on OR if their booster actually doesn't work. The booster has a safety button on the back that needs to be pushed in for it to work (hence why there is a bracket you put on the wall that keeps this button pressed). I also made sure that the template was level before installing. I'm not sure how sensitive it would be if it was off-level but I figured this toy was tested at Mattel as level and gravity is part of the equation. Also, the "catcher" (the top part of the toy that catches the car from the booster) needs to have additional tape on the bracket as the brackets are 2-piece and the impact of the car hitting the "catcher" wants to separate these 2-piece brackets.I have attached this set to my son's current Wall Tracks Starter Set (at the bottom right) and it works really well. Of course there are instances when it doesn't work but I would say it works 95% of the time which is on par with the other components of Wall Tracks. (A couple issues that have happened are: 1) depending on the car you use...sometimes the catcher will turn it sideways or it will get caught at the exit of the "catcher"...so experiment with different cars.(I recommend cars that are pretty flat on the top) 2) If there is a 2nd car right behind the 1st car going through the booster, I think the booster slows down enough to not get the velocity on the 2nd car and it will not make it into the "catcher".Another nice thing about this set is that I connected it to the bottom of the Starter Set. This set has an entrance at the bottom to go into the booster and an optional exit at the top to connect another expansion set (more track length for a car to go down)Last note: with this new set installed...my son seems to enjoy the Wall Tracks so much more!

Mid-air madness made it five days in my house. My three year old loved it. Hot Wheels is his middle name. It worked well, he had a blast playing with it, jumping up and down and screaming...and then one day, mother of the year that I am and not paying attention, I guess he stuck his head too close to the launch pad and one of the cars popped him in the eye. My kid's pretty smart but this was not one of his brightest moments. We have the Hot Wheels Power Tower and are going to stick with that one for now. Mid-Air Madness will go in the closet for a few years. Three year old thru a fit b/c he loves it so much. I gave it three stars b/c it's a lot of fun but my boy got hurt. I should have seen it coming...mid-air collision sounds like fun so I'm gonna put my head in the middle...boys.
