Bought two of these toys at a local store for $12.99 each, then came home to help my grandson set it up. Cost another $3.99 to download the full version of the app. Then as you play, you are continually prompted to buy more things at additional fees. So glad my grandson didn't know my Apple ID! Taking both toys back tomorrow first thing. Pass on this one.

It's a really cut figurine but it scratched up my screen protected like crazy and left black markers everywhere. Safe for the iPad? I laugh. Make sure you have a really good screen protector if you want this.

I got this for my kids for Christmas, because they're crazy about Om Nom. The description says that it's screen safe plastic that wouldn't scratch as long as it was kept clean of foreign debris. I'm fanatical about keeping my iPad in good shape, so I would carefully clean both the toy and the iPad each time I let me kids play with this, supervising them the whole time to make sure that they weren't pushing too hard or that they weren't dropping it or anything.Despite all of this effort, within a few days my iPad had a couple of dozen small curved scratches on it. Most of them can't be seen except in the right light, but one of them is deep enough to distort what you're seeing underneath it on the screen. I feel just sick and angry about it.I can't recommend that anyone use any of these apptivity toys because apparently no amount of effort is going to keep your screen from getting scratched. I had to take it away from my kids and tell them they're not allowed to play with it any more. They were crushed. They'll get over it, but it will take me much longer to get over the anger I have at Mattel and myself for believing their claims.
