this lock will not protect your bike against a determined theif.the cable is very good but the lock is just a chinese lock with a plastic sleave over it that says krytonite.the keys are cheap as well and you should be very careful about breaking them off in the lock.all in all this is a good cheap lock to protect a bike for a few minutes but if you want to keep it safe for longer than it takes to go into the corner store and out the you should buy a good one.

It's nice to protect any quick release items on your bicycle. The security rating by Kryptonite for this product is a 2. Also, the lock is heavier than the chain. I use this to lock my sister's pink Walmart bike. It should deter thieves more than her original Walmart brand locks.
