Great protective case, but somewhat limits functionality.
By Noswal
This case will definitely protect an iPhone or an iPod Touch while your child uses it, but it does so at the cost of limiting the functionality.First, the screen protector is quite thick plastic built into the case itself (not a standalone protector you stick onto the display). The plastic does not affect the responsiveness to touch input, but it is seriously hard to press the home button through it. My daughter (almost 3) kept asking me to help her press it to go back to the home screen. The first time I put her iPod in the case, I was unable to double-click the home button in order to switch or close running apps. However, I found that if you press with your thumb-tip, it works decently. You just have to retrain yourself if you're used to pressing with the pad of your thumb or finger. I showed this trick to my daughter and now she can operate the button fine. I think the plastic is becoming less stiff in that spot as she continues to use it.Second, most of the iPhone/iPod's external buttons are not accessible when the device is inside the case. You can't press the top (power button) to put the iPod to sleep. You can't press the volume up/down buttons either. However, the iPod/iPhone will automatically go to sleep after a few minutes of inactivity. Also, most apps (that play music or video) have a volume slider you can control the volume with. You can also go to the "Settings" app, click on "Sounds" and change the current ringer volume. So, there is a workaround to these issues, just a bit of a pain. Finally, my biggest disappointment, is that the Dock connector is not accessible when the iPod is in the case. That means I have to take it out of the case every time it needs charging. This is a bit of a nuisance, but the case is pretty easy to open. There are, however, openings on the top and bottom of the case so you can plug in headphones (iPhones have the jack on top while iPods have the jack on the bottom, and this case is made to work with either). All in all, I think this is a pretty great case. The pink molded rubber shell is easy for my daughter to hold, and combined with the soft silicone rubber on the inside, should protect her iPod if she drops it. The case is not completely waterproof (headphone ports and hinges), but the giant plastic screen protector should keep any spilled liquid from getting directly to the iPod. So far, my daughter loves having her own iPod, and I don't have to worry about it breaking because she dropped it!

Love it, mostly
By BabyMomma
I haven't given this to my two year old yet but I love it. Baby man is getting a used iPod for Christmas which is cheaper in the long run with more selection in games than any of the learning tablets for kids. Not being able to touch the volume controls can be a nuisance but my toddler doesn't need to be touching them anyways. The case makes the iPod bulkier, again, my boy won't mind. I chose this over the other apptivity case because this is far less babyish. This one is more likely to grow with my child than something that looks like an infant toy. I wish I could charge it without needing to take it out of the case but the case is still worth t. It looks like it could withstand a toddler

Great protection from the littlest ones
By Amy Olszak
I have one year old and three year old boys who love their gadgets as much as their daddy! My three year old actually takes pretty good care of my iPhone when playing with it. While we have some fun apps for the one year old, he's a bit more rough on the phone, dropping it, putting it in his mouth, trying to throw it in the toilet... so I wanted something to protect my phone when I let him play with it. I also needed something he can't open, as this little guy gets into everything!I admit, the case is a bit hard to open, but for me that's a good thing. Neither of my boys have gotten it open yet. The home button is a little hard to push when in this case, but again, for my purpose that's not a bad thing. I don't need my one year old always pushing the button and messing stuff up on my phone. I like that I can set up a game for him and he can't change that. But I can still push the button with a bit of extra force to change it to something else should he get bored of that one (which, let's face it, is about two minutes!). The plastic over the screen does not inhibit your normal touching and swiping. My only real complaint is that I have to take my phone out of its current case to put in this baby-friendly one. But I'm just lazy like that. Now if only it were water (toilet) proof!
